Greetings college football fans from the barrier islands on the coast of east-central Florida. It’s been a long, hot summer. Damn, it’s still hot. But now it is time to get back to football – even if it is still hot. And it’s time to get back to College Football Week. CFW is happy to be stuck with you. The first edition of 2026’s College Football Week will be posted one week from today – Monday, August 17. Yes, next Monday will be the first of College Football Week’s 26-week run from preseason (August 17) to the end of postseason (February 1).

Better known as CFW, the weekly college football blog/newsletter is back for its 32nd season. Begun in the mid-1990s, CFW has continued to inform and entertain, sometimes irritate, college football fans every year since 1995.
“We’ve had some fun
And yes, we’ve had our ups and downs
Been down that rocky road
But here we are, still around”
Not only has CFW continued to exist, but also, during the years, it has continued to grow:
- From a weekly report and commentary on seven teams – Duke, Florida, Georgia, Nebraska, Purdue, Texas and West Virginia (“Ye Olde Stomping Grounds”) – to a weekly report and commentary on all of college football.
- From a weekly two-page report and commentary to a multi-page report and commentary.
- From a weekly email sent to 12 recipients to an email sent to more than 600 recipients and to an online blog (https://collegefootballweek.blogspot.com) read by several thousand.

On Monday, August 17, come aboard and read the first of 26 weeks of postings. You’ll be glad you did. Every Monday and Thursday morning, CFW will keep you up-to-date and entertained for the next five months – the preseason, the season, the conference championship games, the bowl games, the playoffs, the championship game and the postseason recap – all 26 weeks of college football. College football 2026 is just around the corner. CFW begins with a review of the offseason, the new head coaches, the coaches on the hot seat, the best players and the conference realignments. CFW takes you through the season, through the bowl games, through the playoff down to the final championship game. Then CFW wraps-up with a review of the past season and an early look at next season. So, it’s time to sit back and relax. Enjoy your cold pizza, your chili dogs, your favorite brew and your College Football Week.

“Stuck With You” is a song by American rock band Huey Lewis and the News. It was written by guitarist Chris Hayes and lead singer Huey Lewis. Released in 1986, the song was the first single from the band’s fourth album “Fore.” The song entered Billboard’s Hot 100 chart on August 2, 1986, where it remained for 19 weeks. “Stuck With You” reached No. 1 on September 20, 1986, and held the top spot for three weeks. An international hit, “Stuck With You” made it big in Canada, Europe and Australia/New Zealand. About the song, Billboard Magazine wrote: “It has a skewed love lyric set to street-corner harmonizing.” Cash Box Magazine said: “It’s a romantic pop song.” My apologies to Hayes and Lewis for tampering with the lyrics.
